You NEED to read this comic about being non-binary
By Samuel Leighton-Dore
When Heaps Gay’s resident political correspondent and masterful essayist Charlie Tetiyevsky said she had a comic for me to read, I was instantly transported back to my childhood obsession with Spider-man (re-awoken in 2012 by one Andrew Garfield).
However, despite sharing some themes of identity and uncomfortable clothing, Charlie’s comic has already had a greater impact on me than Peter Parker ever managed. You see, for those of us lucky enough to not have experienced body/gender related dysphoria personally, the idea of being non-binary can be a little tricky to wrap our heads around.
But it’s super important that we try – and this beautiful hand-drawn comic makes it perfectly clear why.
