Hillary Clinton Cuts Bullshit, Slays Trump
By Samuel Leighton-Dore
In a much-needed tonal shift for her campaign, Hillary Clinton today skinned Donald Trump alive and wore him down the runway to the tune of Sissy That Walk.
While most millennials continue to hold out hope for an unprecedented Bernie Sanders come-back in California this coming Tuesday, Hillary Clinton turned up the heat in her offense against presumptive Republican nominee and all-round political rookie Donald Trump.
Nearing the end of what has been an unexpectedly exhausting slog of a Primary race for Clinton (and her supporters), Hillary spoke live on CNN from San Diego with a renewed focus on foreign policy, seeking to highlight the complexity of her past experience and Trump’s complete ineptitude.
And, regardless of where your political allegiance lies, the woman slayed.
Most political commentators would agree that Clinton’s strength doesn’t lie in her ability to captivate an audience or inspire with speech-making. However, there was a widely recognised shift in today’s speech, as the former Secretary of State delivered powerful and declarative one-line anti-Trump zingers like knock-out blows to an unfit boxing opponent. Take a peak at some of our fave moments below:
1. “Donald Trump’s ideas aren’t just different — they are dangerously incoherent. They’re not even really ideas, just a series of bizarre rants, personal feuds and outright lies.”
2. “He’s not just unprepared — he’s temperamentally unfit to hold an office that requires knowledge, stability and immense responsibility.”
3. “This is not someone who should ever have the nuclear codes because it’s not hard to imagine Donald Trump leading us into a war just because somebody got under his very thin skin.”
4. “I will leave it to the psychiatrists to explain his affection for tyrants.”
5. “What’s Trump’s (ISIS plan)? Well, he won’t say. He is literally keeping it a secret. The secret, of course, is he has no idea how to stop ISIS.”
6. “We all know the tools Donald Trump brings to the table — bragging, mocking, composing nasty tweets. I am willing to bet he is writing a few right now.”
While Clinton continues to battle historically high disapproval ratings and shake the remarkably persistent Sanders off her tail, many believe she’ll be declared presumptive nominee for the Democrats next week – ahead of the Democratic convention in late July (which is reported to have the most LGBT delegates in history).
And say what you want about the controversial woman who has spent decades honing in on Presidency like a North Korean missile, she’s shaping up to be a fiery contender in a highly unusual battle.
