WATCH: Arty As Fuck Donald Trump Take-Down
By Samuel Leighton-Dore
Donald Trump isn’t a hard man to eviscerate.
With his ginger comb-over, small hands, “very good brain” and grossly racist rhetoric, he lends himself to parody like nobody else.
However, a small group of Australian creatives have taken the #NeverTrump message into their own hands, crafting a reflective (dare I say, beautiful?) absurdist short film written entirely from Donald’s most misogynistic catch-phrases and set against a haunting backdrop of carnations and visceral music.
While his words continue to prove that you just couldn’t make this shit up if you tried, Donald Trump has never looked so cinematic.
Exploring the illogical nature of sexism and the social commentary that comes with it, the film, titled CARNE (Spanish for meat), was produced by an all-female film-making team including director Dani Pearce and producers Madeleine Gottlieb and Sarah Christie and premiered at TEDxSydney 2016 on the weekend.
