We are overjoyed and excited to offer you Heaps Gay-ers the chance to win one of 15 double passes to a preview screening of Barry Jenkins’ stunning new movie Moonlight on Thursday the 19th of January at the Dendy Opera Quays. That’s a whole week before it’s official release on Thursday 26th January.

Chronicling the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he wrestles with his own identity and sexuality, the film is a touching story of human connection and self-discovery. A vitally relevant picture of African American life today, it takes a deeply personal and poetic look at family, friendship and love, all against the backdrop of Miami’s notoriously dangerous inner city suburbs.

Having already won the award for Best Motion Picture Drama at The Golden Globes, many are predicting the film will win the Oscar for Best Picture at this year’s Academy Awards.

Whether or not that is that case, all we here at Heaps Gay can say is woo-f**king-hoo because for a film about the struggle of being gay and black in today’s America to be the favourite to win Best Picture while Donald Trump is president, just seems like the perfect f**k you to cap off the past year of insanity.
