Both directors behind “The Matrix” have now transitioned

The legendary sibling filmmakers behind The Matrix, V for Vendetta and a host of other films are no longer known as the Wachowski brothers – from henceforth, they shall be known as the Wachowski sisters.

In 2012, Lana Wachowski announced her trans identity, and now her sibling has announced her transition – she’ll now be known as Lilly Wachowski.

“I’m out to my friends and family,” Lilly says. “Most people at work know too. Everyone is cool with it. Yes, thanks to my fabulous sister they’ve done it before, but also because they’re fantastic people. Without the love and support of my wife and friends and family I would not be where I am today.”

There is a dark side to the story – The Daily Mail had threatened exposure, and forced Wachowski to come out before she was entirely ready to, saying she was dreading the headline “Sex Change Shocker–Wachoski Brothers Now Sisters!!”
