HOLLYWOOD PRODUCER STARTS TWITTER ACCOUNT CALLING OUT SEXIST SCRIPTS

By James Branson

Ross Putman, a Hollywood producer, has just launched a frankly awesome series of tweets that shine a bright light on sexism in the Film industry.

And all he’s done is shared the introductions to every female character in every script that comes across his desk.

Tweeting under the name @femscriptintros, Putman is excerpting descriptions of female characters verbatim – all he’s doing is changing the names to ‘JANE’. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority are of the standard “super hot/cute/sexy/smokin'” variety.

The Producer hasn’t made any comments on where he stands on the issue, although he did say that “you will notice quite a few of them are… well, similarly problematic.
